About White Heather
White Heather Highland Supplies has a rich history that began in 1967 when Graham Adams and his wife Heather founded the business. In 2008, Celtic Stationery acquired the company, bringing in Colleen and Ian McEwan, who had deep ties to Scottish events and organisations. After years of attending Highland Gatherings, they retired from travelling in 2021 but continued to serve the community through their retail shop and online presence. In 2025, they passed the torch to Celtic Thunder Coffs Harbour, ensuring the tradition of providing authentic Highland dress, Scottish regalia, bagpipes, and accessories continues in Australia.

Welcome to White Heather Highland Supplies: your trusted source forย the most comprehensive range of Scottish Highland dress, piping and drumming supplies and accessories, general gifts and souvenirs. We look forward to providing the service that you've come to expect over many years.
Behind the Name
Ray Ellington
With more than 60 years of experience playing the bagpipes, Ray Ellington has dedicated much of his life to Scottish music, Highland culture and the Celtic community.
Ray has served as Pipe Major of the Coffs Coast Pipes and Drums and is a proud life member of the band. He was also one of the founding members of the NSW Highlanders Pipe Band, proudly representing Australia at the prestigious World Pipe Band Championships.
In recognition of his lifelong contribution to Celtic culture and the community, Ray was honoured with the Celtic Honour Award by the Celtic Council of Australia at the Australian Celtic Festival in Glen Innes in 2025.
Ray's passion extends beyond piping. He was the founder of the annual Winter Solstice Festival in Boambee East, helping bring the community together to celebrate Celtic traditions, music and culture.
In 2003, Ray established Celtic Thunder, initially managing events and competitions before expanding the business into a retail venture with his family in 2008. Over the years, Celtic Thunder has continued to grow, and in 2025 Ray and his family proudly took on White Heather Highland Supplies, continuing the legacy of a business with a rich history dating back to 1967.
With Ray's decades of knowledge, passion and dedication to Highland culture, the White Heather tradition will continue to live on, bringing quality Highland dress, pipe band supplies and Celtic products to generations to come.
